Diana, Princess of Wales

Diana, Princess of Wales , born on 1 July 1961,was a member of

the British royal family. In 1981, while working as a nursery teacher's
assistant, she became engaged to Prince Charles, the eldest son
of Queen Elizabeth II.  She married him at St Paul's Cathedral in
London on 29 July 1981.  They had two sons- Prince William and
Prince Henry . Diana's marriage to Charles suffered due to their
incompatibility and extramarital affairs,so,they separated in 1992. She
was celebrated in the media for her unconventional approach to charity
work.  Diana auctioned off 79 of her gowns to benefit cancer and AIDS
causes. The 79 dresses raised $3.25 million for those charities. Diana
was initially home-schooled .  She joined her sisters at West Heath Girls’
School in Sevenoaks, Kent, in 1973.She did not perform well
academically, failing her O-levels twice ,so she left West Heath when
she was sixteen. She showed a talent for music as an accomplished
pianist. She also excelled in swimming and diving, and studied ballet
and tap dance.Saddly ,Diana passed away on 31 August 1997 due to the
injuries she sustained in a car crash in Paris,France.
