What is physics?
What is physics?

Physics is science that deals with

the structure of matter and the
interactions between the
fundamental constituents of the
observable universe. In the
broadest sense, physics is
concerned with all aspects of
nature on both the macroscopic
and submicroscopic levels.
02
What is quantum
physics?
What is quantum physics?

Quantum physics is the study of

matter and energy at the most
fundamental level. It aims to
uncover the properties and
behaviors of the very building
blocks of nature. While many
quantum experiments examine
very small objects, such as
electrons and photons, quantum
phenomena.

The “double-slit
experiment”
The “double-slit experiment”
• The fact that the outcome of a quantum
experiment can change depending on whether or
not we choose to measure some property of the
particles involved.
• When this "observer effect" was first noticed by the
early pioneers of quantum theory, they were deeply
troubled. It seemed to undermine the basic
assumption behind all science: that there is an
objective world out there, irrespective of us. The
way the world behaves depends on how – or if –
we look at it.
• The most famous intrusion of the mind into
quantum mechanics comes in the "double-slit
experiment“
• According to classical physics the elements can
act either like waves or balls, but in quantum
physics the elements can both act like waves and
balls, the mutually exclusive ideas can be valid at
the same time.https://youtu.be/ZQAvVgnreWk

What is “reality”?
What is “reality”?
• In quantum physics there aren’t
general laws about the world,
everything we observe doesn’t
have objective nature. Our
perception for everything is
different from the perception of
everyone else.

• Eugene Wigner -"Solipsism may

be logically consistent with present
quantum mechanics."
Teleportation- possible?
• One particularly puzzling question is
how our conscious minds can
experience unique sensations, such as
the color red or the smell of frying
bacon. With the exception of people
with visual impairments, we all know
what red is like, but we have no way to
communicate the sensation and there
is nothing in physics that tells us what it
should be like.
• One object is not perceived the same
way by everyone. So, is there only one
“reality”?
