(Session 1)
The session begins with asking about the applications of refraction in daily life,
relating the experiences with the concepts of refraction and thereafter focuses on
total internal reflection and exploring the applications of total internal reflection
and its applications, for example - optical fibers
(Session 2)
Derivation and discussing the applications of formula for refraction at spherical
surfaces (concave and convex surfaces)
(Session 3)
Derivation and discussing the applications of lenses formula for convex (real and
virtual images) & concave (virtual image)
(Session 4)
The session focuses on the discussing the effect of the thin lens's formula (contact
of two thin lenses)
(Session 5)
Exploring the effect on the focal length change of lenses following derivation of
the lens maker's formula for (convex and concave lens)
(Session 6)
The session examines the magnification of a lens, power of a lens and comparing
the magnification for various lenses.
(Session 7)
Demonstrating the refraction of light through a prism and derivation of the prism
formula.

Demonstration of combination of lenses is done and hence its application to
examine the working of the Optical Instrument-Simple Microscope (working and
derivation of magnifying power)

The session opens with the group discussion on combing the lenses and its results
following which Optical instrument- compound Microscope (working and
derivation of magnifying power) are discussed.

The session opens with the group discussion on the effect on changing the positions
of the lenses - Astronomical telescope (working and derivation of magnifying
power)

Students are encouraged to explore the behavior as a particle and hence explaining
the application of the Wave optics (nature of wave in the form of light)
