TMS-ECoG/iEEG Data Cleaning

Raaj Chatterjee
Brain to Skull Conductivity Ratio is ~20:1
TMS + iEEG vs EEG cleaning differences
• Intracranial EEG (iEEG) includes ECoG (Surface) and sEEG (depth)
• EEG bandwidth (~50 Hz), iEEG Bandwidth (~250 Hz)
• iEEG has less spatial filtering, more line noise harmonics
• iEEG may not require removal of eye blink/muscle artifacts
• In TMS-iEEG, Rapid initial decay (~20 ms) then longer decay (~200 ms) is present
• iEEG requires new visualizations

Phantom Verification
• Will not reflect electrophysiological artifacts
• Will reflect electrode and amplifier level artifacts (to some extent)
• Can removing decay artifact in phantom serve as a detrending model for in-vivo data?
