The leading categories of the US manufactured goods are chemicals, industrial machinery, electronic equipment, processed foods, and transportation equipment The service and commerce sector is the largest sector of the economy in terms of output and employment, employing 75 percent of the US workforce. It includes transportation-related businesses, travel and tourism, and entertainment businesses such as motion picture production, theatre, and television.
The United States is also known for its
technological innovations, including the development of the personal computer, which has enabled individuals and businesses to use computer technologies, including the Internet, to access information and conduct transactions. The country is rich in natural resources, including huge fields of natural gas and oil, coal, and iron ore.
