Fedoronchuk Markiian
Today, I would like to present to
you an overview of the United
States economy.

The US economy is one of the

largest and most diverse
economies in the world. In
2010, the country's gross
domestic product (GDP) was
nearly $14.7 trillion, which
accounted for approximately a
quarter of the global GDP.
The United States is a
manufacturing powerhouse,
producing a fifth of the world's
manufacturing output.
The country is home to 139 of the
world's 500 largest companies,
which is almost twice that of any
other country. It is also the largest
trading nation globally, exporting
and importing more goods and
services than any other country.
The total value of US imports and
exports has amounted to 25
percent of the country's GDP.
The US economy can be divided
into four sectors: natural resources,
manufacturing and electricity
generation, commerce and services,
and the recording, processing, and
transmission of information. The
manufacturing industry employs
about one-sixth of the nation's
workers and accounts for 17
percent of annual GDP. The leading
categories of the US manufactured
goods are chemicals, industrial
machinery, electronic equipment,
processed foods, and transportation
equipment
The service and commerce sector is the
largest sector of the economy in terms
of output and employment, employing
75 percent of the US workforce. It
includes transportation-related
businesses, travel and tourism, and
entertainment businesses such as
motion picture production, theatre, and
television.

The United States is also known for its

technological innovations, including the
development of the personal computer,
which has enabled individuals and
businesses to use computer
technologies, including the Internet, to
access information and conduct
transactions.
The country is rich in natural
resources, including huge fields of
natural gas and oil, coal, and iron ore.

Agriculture is another important

sector, with the United States being
the largest producer of corn,
soybeans, and sorghum, and ranking
second in the production of wheat,
oats, citrus fruits, and tobacco.

In conclusion, the United States

economy is a diverse and robust
economy that continues to be a major
player in the global marketplace.
