INTRODUCTION
• The stock market is the component of financial system

• It's impact helps in the development of the economy.

• Stock market provides a unique platform for the people to invest their
money and grow it over a period of time.

• Indian Stock Market is an ideal investment platform for individual

who want to aggregate their funds for meeting financial goals.

• Authorities cannot ignore the behaviour of individual investors as

they account for a larger portion of assets and income.

LITERATURE REVIEW
• (Nair et al., 2014) Mutual funds, irrespective of the amount invested, provide a platform for
the average investor to participate in the Indian capital market via professional fund
management.
• According to (Geetha & Ramesh, 2011) article titled “A Study on People’s Preferences in
Investment Behavior.” The parties involved in investment planning must have sufficient
knowledge about the various investment avenues available to investors and should be able
to evaluate the investment alternatives in a proper manner.
• Age and educational level have little bearing on an investor's awareness of the numerous
investment options available to them in the market, (Kousalya et al., 2012) found in their
study on "Women Investors Perception towards Investments."
• ([Ramkumar]A_Study_on_Factors_Influencing_Youngster, n.d.) –. A study on factors
influencing young people's perception towards choice of investment avenues. The study
seeks to identify the factors that young people will consider before deciding on an
investment strategy. The data for the study is gathered from 100 young people in Chennai

ANALYSIS AND FINDINGS

• Interpretation: -
Dec 21 - Mar 22 (FY 21-22): - Increasing by 90
million.
Apr 22 - Jan 23 (FY 22-23): - Increasing by 110
million.

Our Findings
• Majority of the respondents are below the age of 30 i.e.,
youth and are generally student thereby belonging to
low-income group.
• Majority of the respondents have either a bit or a good
knowledge about share market.
• It was found that the number of demat accounts has
suddenly spiked from the FY 2020-21, thereby
assuming the importance and impact of retail investors
in the market.
 CONCLUSION
• In this study, respondents from Kolkata were gathered
to explore their attitudes on stock market investing.
• It is known that both men and women are interested in
stock market investment based on the study's findings.
• The findings indicate that if a person has adequate
information about the stock market, they are willing to
take a risk by investing in it.
