This document provides an overview of the human body's movements and musculoskeletal system for 6th grade science. It includes learning objectives about identifying joint types, comparing bones in different body parts, and demonstrating how muscles work. Key terms like cartilage and muscles are defined. Cartilage is described as a strong, flexible connective tissue that protects joints and reduces friction. Muscles are organs made of muscle tissue that attach to bones and help move body parts. Students are instructed to feel their ear to identify any bones and complete an activity demonstrating muscle contraction.

It acts as a shock absorber throughout your body. Cartilage at the end of your bones reduces friction and prevents them from rubbing together when you use your joints. Cartilage is an important structural component of the body. It is a firm tissue but is softer and much more flexible than bone. Cartilage is the main type of connective tissue seen throughout the body. It serves a variety of structural and functional purposes and exists in different types throughout our joints, bones, spine, lungs, ears and nose. Muscles There are about 600 muscles in the human body. Muscles is an organ that is a mass of muscle tissue attached at to bones and that helps in the movement of a body part.
