(EMP)

Manir Hossain
Sr. Executive
Compliance and Environment
Ha-Meem Denim Ltd.
Overview
Environmental Management Plan (EMP) is concerned with
the implementation of the measures necessary to minimize or
offset adverse impacts and thereby to enhance beneficial
impacts on the surrounding environment.

All the measures at EMP are said to be successful when they

comply with the legal standards (e.g. Bangladesh
Environment Conservation Act-1995; Rules-1997;
Bangladesh Water Act-2013; Energy Policy of Bangladesh;
The National Environment Management Action Plan).
Objectives of EMP
 Establish and implement Mitigation measures to reduce or
eliminate negative impacts;
 Establish and implement Enhancement measures to
maximize positive impacts;
 Define Monitoring requirement and Monitoring indicators;
and
 Propose budgeting and allocation of funds for
environmental management system.
Major areas of EMP
 Environmental Management Team/ Committee
 Environmental Monitoring and Reporting based on
Internal audit program
 Environmental Awareness and Training
 Environmental Aspect & Impact
 Environmental Management Measures based on Aspect &
Impact
 Environmental Management Policies & Procedures
 Environmental Management Action Plan (Plan-Do-
Check-Act method)
 Environmental parameter Monitoring Program
