SENTENCE ORDER
• In every language, sentence order is a very important aspect to follow to
make others understand the information you are trying to transmit;
• In standard English, sentence order follows a basic model:
SUBJECT + VERB + COMPLEMENT
• The subject is usually the active part of a speech, that is, the one that
practices the action (verb)
SENTENCE ORDER
• The action of the speech (verb) must always be together with a subject;

• The complement can have numerous variations, according to the


information you are transmitting;

SUBJECT + VERB + OBJECT + PLACE + TIME


Who? did what? to what/whom? Where? When?
DICTATION
• 1. Have you done your homework yet?
• 2. Is there any email to answer?
• 3. Do you usually have a lot of things to do?
• 4. Would you like to call later?
• 5. Were we able to solve your problem?
DICTATION
• 6. Do you have any meeting scheduled for today?
• 7. Did you have a fight with her?
• 8. When will you change departments?
• 9. What would you like to do after the meeting?
• 10. Have you checked the previous email yet?
