Present Simple: for routines and
habits.
Example:
I wash my hair every day.
She never goes to the library.
We often go to the park.
TIPS TO IDENTIFY PRESENT
SIMPLE
• The use of words such as:
Often, always, never, usually,
seldom,
every weekend /day /Sunday etc.
Eg: I always go to school.
I clean my room every Sunday.
Present Continuos: We use it to
talk about things that are
happening now or around now.
Example:
I am reading a comic now
She is studying for tests today
We use the present
continuous with these time
expressions: now, at the
moment, at present, today,
these days, this week, etc.
These verb are NOT used in
present continuous:
LOVE
HATE
WANT
NEED
 PRESENT
CONTINUIOUS
FOR FUTURE
PLANS
Present Contiunuos for Future Plans: for
future plans when we have decided a time
and a place with other people. We normally
use a future time expression.
I am studying for the test tomorrow.
She is visiting her cousin next Saturday
We are moving in October.
