CHUA CIRCUIT MAP

Introduction
• Chua circuit map was inverted in the fall of 1983
(chua, 1992) in response to two unfulfilled
quests among many researchers on chaos
concerning two wanting aspects of the Lorenz
equations. Chua circuit map was inverted in
1983 by Leon O.
Introduction……
• Chua circuit is a simple electronic circuit exhibiting a wide
variety bifurcation and chaotic phenomena. Because of its
simplicity and universality, chua circuit has attracted much
interests and has become a standard primer on chaos.
• Bifurcation refers to the division of something into two
branches or parts
• Chaos means the property of complex system whose
behavior is so unpredictable as to appear random owing to
great sensitivity to small changes in conditions.
Applications of Chua circuit
• The Circuit has been built and used in many
laboratories as a physical source of pseudo
random signals and numerous experiments on
synchronization studies such as secure
communication systems and simulation of brain
dynamics.
CHUA EQUATIONS
• The Chua equation is the model of one of the simplest electronic
circuit exhibiting a wide range of complex dynamical behaviours.
Chua equations…
• Where β and α are real numbers and φ (x) is a scalar
function of the single variable x.
• The chua equations are simpler than the Lorenz
equations in the sense thatit contains only one scalar
nonlineality.
Chua circuit
• The circuit diagram of the chua circuit contains five
elements. The first four elements on the left are standard
off- the-shelf linear passive electrical components which are
inductance L > o, Resistance R>o, and two capacitances C1 >
o and C2 >o. They are called passive elements because they
do not need a power supply like battery.
• Interconnection of passive elements always leads to trivial
dynamics, with all elements voltages and currents trending
to zero (chua, 1969)
CHUA CIRCUIT
Circuit..….
• Chua’s circuit. R is a variable resistor used to change the
coupling between the active and passive parts of the circuit. As a
consequence variation of R leads to bifurcation phenomena.
• here C1,C2,Land Rare the values of the passive linear elements
shown in Fig. 1, and rL, not shown in the figure, denotes the
series internal resistance of the inductor. The static nonlinearity
of Chua’s diode is the piecewise linear function given by
id(x) = m0x+ 0.5(m1−m0){|x+Bp|−|x−Bp|},
