Actions and Initiatives
• Due to the “realities” in the community, action and
initiative from members are needed. Thus, put into action.

• Being a member of the community , you should


take part in the initiative to address issues and
problems.
•Aim: to make community life better for all
members of the community.

Values of Community Action Initiatives

1. Community Engagement- a collaborative


working process among affiliated groups or
individuals.
2. Community Initiative- a network of individuals
and partner organization dedicated to improvement
the welfare of a community.
3.Peoples’ Organization- the Filipino
equivalent of what in other countries of
what in other countries are commonly
called community-based organizations.
4.Civil Societies- this group in the
Philippines comes from the Filipino
concepts of “pakikipagkapwa”
5.Multinational Corporation- is an
organization that owns or controls
production of goods or services in one or
more countries other than their home
country.

Human Rights
• the rights inherent to all human beings whatever our
nationality, place of residence, sex , national or ethnic
origin, color, religion, language or any other status

• supreme, inherent, and inalienable rights to life,


to dignity, and self-development

• concerned with issues in both areas of civil and political rights and economic,
social and cultural rights founded on internationally accepted human right
obligations
Natural Rights- The liberty and the pursuit of
happiness.
Civil Rights- privacy, property, religion, expression,
contract and movement
Political Rights- assembly, petition, suffrage,
direct and indirect participation, self-
determination, self-government and election to
public office.
Political rights refer to an
individual's ability to participate
in the civil and political life of
the society and state without
fear of discrimination or
repression, and is tied closely to
citizenship status.
SOCIAL EQUITY

• is the fair access to opportunities, like education, livelihood and resources


Gender equality

• the equal rights, responsibilities, and opportunities of women and men and
girls and boys

• It does not mean that both genders are the same but emphasize the equality
of men and women , with equal rights, values, treatment, and opportunities.
Participatory development

• Its objective is to engage the marginalized group in programs and activities


that will benefit them.

• advocacies to enable the marginalized groups to promote their rights

• it will empower a certain sector that will benefit from the community
initiatives thru participatory development
