⚬She was born in Colombia on February 2th,
she has lived 46 years, she comes from a
middle-class family. Shakira is the daughter
of William Mebarak, of Lebanese descent,
and Nidia Ripoll, a Colombian with Catalan
ancestors.

 Early Life
⚬At the age of eight she composed her first song, “Tus gafas oscuras”,
which her dedicated to his father. He, like his mother, soon
understood what his daughter's vocation was, who began an artistic
career as a child appearing on radio and television programs. At the
age of ten her was already writing songs systematically; participated
for the first time in the television contest “Buscando artista infantil”.

⚬As a teenager, Shakira signed her first record contract with Sony
Music Colombia, a label for which she recorded her first album,
“Magia” (1991), she has composed song at the age of eight and
thirteen. She has released a second album two years later,
“Peligro”(1993). Her personality immediately impacted the public
and music journalists; she was chosen to represent Colombia at the
OTI Festival, but was unable to attend because she was under
sixteen.

Contributions
⚬Shakira has founded the “Fundación Pies Descalzos” since 1995. Today, it supports
six schools in Colombia and more than 6,000 students and their families, who have
been affected by poverty and displacement, with nutritious meals, education and
psychological support services.
⚬Also, Shakira has donated 10 Intensive Care Unit respirators that were installed at
“CAMINO Universitario Adelita de Char”, a hospital center, the first line of defense
in the care of patients infected with coronavirus and who require intensive care.
⚬Shakira made as a contribution to the campaign “Soy solidario soy Barranquilla”,
organized by the same mayor's office in the face of the difficult situation that the city
is going through due to the covid-19 pandemic.
 Family
⚬The Colombian's best triumph is undoubtedly her two childrens, Milan,
nine, and Sasha, seven. They were in those happiest moments in the
artist's life, who didn’t hesitate to share not only how much they have
grown since they were just babies, but also their achievements. Very
sporty, the children are good at surfing, martial arts, tennis and of course
soccer.
⚬Nidia Ripolll and William Mebarak, Shakira's parents, have not
hesitated to travel to Spain, where they spend time with their daughter
and grandchildren, to be with the artist (she is the only daughter they
have in common). The three of them have a very close relationship and
what the Colombian feels for her parents is truly crazy, to whom she
always refers in a very affectionate way.
Relationship
⚬They were together for a long time but relationships begin and end.
That is precisely what happened with Shakira and Piqué, except that, in
their case, it happened in full view of the whole world. A separation that
was confirmed through a statement and of which little by little more
details became known. Some of them thanks to images and others
thanks to Shakira's music.
⚬Through her songs we have been able to witness her morning, at least
the part that she has been able to show. How he went from blaming the
“monotonía" to exposing how much the end of his relationship had hurt
him to, later and together with Karol G, make it clear that he is turning
the page. An end that little reflects the beginning of their relationship,
where everything was complicit glances and smiles.

were hits: Te felicito, Monotonía and TQG
The artist has been chosen to sing in three soccer World Cup opening
shows. The first was in Germany 2006, with "Hips don't lie", the second
was in South Africa 2010 - where he met Piqué - with "Waka Waka" and
the third and last was in Brazil 2014 with "La La La".
She went to college and no one recognized her. On the Jimmy Kimmel
show, Shakira has confessed that she went completely unnoticed when
she studied at the University of California. During a semester, where she
studied the History of Western Civilization, none of her classmates
recognized her. "I would put on me a baseball cap and some sports pants,
I would show up in the classroom without raising the slightest suspicion,"
said the artist.
