PT. Tazkia Agro stated that the average weight of the Mango fruit produced
was 1500 grams with a standard deviation of 100 grams. If it is known that
the weight of the Mango fruit produced is following the normal distribution:
a. What is the probability that randomly selected Mango fruit will weigh
between 1400 to 1900 grams?
b. What is the probability that the weight of the Mango fruit reaches less
than 1200 grams so that consumers will complain?
c. To develop its business, PT. Tazkia Agro plans to create a new quality
class for Mango fruit which is the quality of "Super Mango Fruit". This
quality is 10% of the best quality Mango fruit. What is the minimum

A random sample of 60 people employed by the Bogor City

authority established they earned an average wage (including

The research department at Tazkia University conducts ongoing

research on the causes of automobile accidents, the
characteristics of the drivers, and so on.
A random sample of 500 policies written on single persons
revealed 150 had at least one accident in the previous three-year
period.
Similarly, a sample of 900 policies written on married persons
revealed that 200 had been in at least one accident.
At the 0.01 significance level, is there a significant difference in
the proportions of single and married persons having an accident
during a three-year period?

The Edison Electric Institute has published figures on the number of

kilowatt hours used annually by various home appliances. It is claimed
that a vacuum cleaner uses an average, less than from 50 kilowatt hours
per year.
If a random sample of 15 homes included in a planned study indicates
that vacuum cleaners use an average of 45 kilowatt hours per year with a
standard deviation of 12 kilowatt hours, does this suggest at the 0.05 level
of significance that vacuum cleaners use, on average, less than 50
kilowatt hours annually?
Assume the population of kilowatt hours to be normal.

A vote is to be taken among the residents of PT. Tazkia Real Estate in Bogor -
West Java and the surrounding county to determine whether a proposed
chemical plant should be constructed.
The construction site is within the town limits, and for this reason many
voters in the county believe that the proposal will pass because of the large
proportion of town voters who favor the construction. To determine if there
is a significant difference in the proportions of town voters and county
voters favoring the proposal, a poll is taken.
If 100 of 200 town voters favor the proposal and 300 of 500 county residents
favor it, would you agree that the proportion of town voters favoring the
proposal is higher than the proportion of county voters? Use an α = 0.05
level of significance.
