1. Introduction
• Plastic recycling is a huge aspect of the open-source mindset and
is a valuable tool that can help cut down on resource waste and
pollution.
• Plastic waste is one of the most abundant, but underused
resources on the planet; even though plastic is easily recyclable
by nature it often ends up only serving as pollution for the planet
once after it is used once.
• So, in this project, we aim to shred thermo-plastic waste and reduce
plastic waste. It is designed in terms of its user-friendliness, cutting
operations, structural design, and ease of manufacturability.

3. Problem Statement
• Our main problem statement is to design and develop plastic
granulation for 3D printing.
• In recent times, the issue of plastic recycling has become one of the
Leading issues of environmental protection and waste management.
• The possibility of reusing thermoplastic materials gives a second
life and enables effective waste utilization.

4. Objectives of Project
The main objective is to design and fabricate 3D a Plastic Waste Shredder
model. Besides the main objective, the following are secondary objectives:

1. Concept Development of the Granulator.

2. CAD modelling of the Granulator And FEA Analysis of the model.

3. Testing fabrication of the Granulator.

4. To make the granulated pellets of the required size to pass through screen
for recycling.

8. Expected Outcome

• We expect that we will have a

fully functional granulator.
• A desktop-size granulator that will
able to granulate 3d printed waste
into a recyclable form.
• The granular will be able to
process the 3d printed waste into
3mm to 5mm small shredded
plastic.
