1. Accessibility of Agri Inputs:

• During initial lockdown accessibility to agricultural inputs were affected.

• Later half, the essential services were allowed.

• 2. On Agri cultivation and SCM:


• Govt had restricted all logistics movement to curb the pandemic.

• Horticulture produce is generally short- lived in nature & perishable.

• Decrease in production.
• 3. Composts deficiency:
• Deficiency of fertilizers and other products like manure and pesticides.

• Conveyance of the input agri products through various business sectors


• 4. On animals:
• Domesticated animals and fishery were hit hard by the pandemic.

• High effect on domesticated animal cultivation because of restricted


creation
and deficiency of labour.

• The pandemic affected the poultry industry.


• Shortage of Transportation:

• Making the availability of agri products accessible to retail


shoppers, both in rural and metropolitan regions, was the most
affected.

• Transportation of public dissemination framework (PDS) things to


last-mile conveyance specialists both by rail and road was seriously
affected.
SCHEMES IMPLEMENTED DURING COVID- 19

• PRADHAN MANTRI FASAL BIMA YOJANA


• During COVID-19 lock down period nearly 70 lakh farmers
benefitted and claims worth Rs. 8741.30 crores were transferred
to the beneficiaries.

• PM-KISAN : SCHEME
• The Economic Survey says
“An amount of R s 1 8 0 0 0 crore was deposited directly in the
bank account of 9 crore farmer of the country in December 2020
as financial assistance under the PM-KISAN scheme.”
• Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana :

• Government of India launched PM-GKAY scheme for additional


allocation of agri products from the Central Pool at the rate of
free of cost to all the beneficiaries covered under Targeted Public
Distribution System (TPDS) under Antyodaya Anna Yojana & Priority
Households).”

• Under the PM-GKAY, 80.96 crores beneficiaries were provided


additional agri products i.e. above the NFSA mandated requirements,
of 5 kg per person per month of cost till November 2020.
CONCLUSION

• Basic changes, for example, land renting, contract cultivation


and private rural business sectors have for quite some time
been upheld for upgradation into the agribusiness and its
development.

• There has not been the uniform execution of these


enactments by State Governments thus the maximum capacity
of the area under development.

• There is requirement of strong political will and equal


participation from all beneficiaries.
