MEETING GOD
THROUGH PRAYER”
DO YOU KNOW
HOW TO PRAY?
WHEN WAS THE
LAST TIME YOU
HAVE PRAYED?
WHAT WERE YOUR
PRAYERS?
Mark 1:35
Question:
Is your relationship in the Lord is
strong enough to know that what
other say about you doesn’t
change who you are?
Sometimes, our prayer
depends of the knowledge of
who we are.
How do you expect to know your
purpose if you don’t even
understand who you are?
In fact, we often experience identity
theft, because we are choosing to
believe the lies of the enemy.
John 10:10
The thief comes only to steal and

Psalm 139:14
“I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully
made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.”
Importance of knowing our
God-given identity:
2.
GIVES YOU VALIDATION AND INCREASES
YOUR FAITH.
2 Corinthians 5:20
We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God

Proverbs 19:21
“Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the
Lord’s purpose that prevails.”
“If you believe the rest of your
life that you are worthless, a
failure, it will be harder for you
to worship a God who thought
you are worth dying for. “
Things to remember when you
meet God through prayer:
2. HAVE AN HONEST TALK WITH GOD
Genesis 15:1-3
“O Sovereign LORD, what good are all your blessings
when I don’t even have a son? Since you’ve given me no
children, Eliezer of Damascus, a servant in my household,
will inherit all my wealth. You have given me no
descendants of my own, so one of my servants will be my
heir”
God wants us to converse with Him. And He values
honesty as part of that communication. Why? Because
honesty indicates trust on the deepest level, a confidence
in the other person’s love and respect. If we can’t be
honest about our feelings with God, then we need to ask
why.
Being honest with God means you can come to God’s
presence and He can handle the full weight of what you
are dealing with
THINGS TO PUT IN MIND WHEN
HAVING AN HONEST WITH GOD:
Matthew 23:12
“For those who exalt themselves will be
humbled, and those who humble themselves will
be exalted.”
Prayer acknowledges what Jesus said in
John 15:5: “You can do nothing without me”
