Introduction
• Aseptic technique refers to a procedure that is performed under the
sterile condition. It is a set of practices that protects patients from
health care associated infections and protects health care workers
from contact with blood, body fluid and body tissue .
Definition
• Aseptic technique is a condition in which no living disease causing
microorganisms are present .
• Aseptic covers all those procedures designed to reduce the risk of
bacterial,fungal or viral contamination,using sterile instruments,sterile
draping and the glove 'no touch' technique.
Principal
• Asepsis is the process of minimizing the number of microbes present
and decreasing their transport in order to decrease infection
Aseptic technique
• Use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Respiratory hygiene and cough etiquette
• Safe use of sharps 
• Environmental cleaning
• Reprocessing of medical equipment
• Appropriate handling of linen and waste management
Aim
• To prevent the access of micro organism during the preperation and
testing .
• To prevent contamination of the specific microorganisms.
• To prevent any cross infection

Conclusion
• Aseptic technique is a mainly basic laboratory techniques that must
be employed especially during interventional procedures and image
guided biopsy or FNAC session so as prevent any contamination and
affecting the accuracy of the result .
