Dissertation/Thesis
Title: Design, Synthesis, Screening and Antioxidant activity of new pyrrole-azetidinone derivatives for Covid-
19:insilico. (M.Pharmacy Project)
Supervisor: Professor G.Sammaiah
Hypothesis/Rationale: 2-azetidinone (β- lactams) ring is a common structural feature of a number of
broad spectrum β-lactam antibiotics used to microbial infections. Pyrrole and its derivatives have also shown
potent antioxidant, antimicrobial, anticancer and antipshycotic activity. Hence, planned to synthesize a
molecule that is a conjugate of both 2-azetidinone and pyrrole in order to enhance their activity.
Reaction scheme: Cant’ t reveal the scheme now since it is not published yet
Significant outcomes: Synthesized compounds displayed invitro antioxidant activity and exhibited Insilco
binding towards COVID19 main protease enzyme (PDB: 7BQY).

Title: Phytochemical Screening And Invitro Anti-Oxidant Activity Of Fruit Pods Of Albizia lebbeck, Leucaena
leucocephala And Caesalpinia pulcherrima. (B.Pharmacy Project)
Supervisor: Mrs.P.MAMATHA,M.Sc, M.Phil.(PhD)
Hypothesis/Rationale: Extraction -> Phytochemical Screening -> Anti-Oxidant Activity
Significant outcomes: The phytochemical screening revealed the presence of polyphenolic compounds.
This suggest a potential utility of Albizia lebbeck & Leucenea leucocephala fruit pods as a source of phenolic
antioxidants and may provide leads in the ongoing research for natural antioxidants from Indian medicinal plants
to be used in treating diseases related to free radical reactions.
