and life, and give them encouragement in their study.
 Registration & payment of fees
For the newly-admitted students:

• You should pay off the fees and finish all the registration
procedures according to the regulation of CQMU on time!
•If you don’t pay off fee on time, it will influence your study
and life!

Eg. The worst outcome is expelled from school!

Affect extending your visa!
Affect your registration both on line and with office!
Affect using information management system of graduate
students!

 Registration & payment of fees

• For the old students, within the first two weeks of each
academic year, you should:
• 1. pay off the fees ( self-funded students )
• 2. get registration stamp with your student id card and cultivation
handbook in Graduate School (including the CSC scholarship
winners) .
• Tips: You can get student id card in December.
 Besides the semester beginning registration

• All students should:

• 1. interview with your supervisor every 2 weeks;

• 2. register with the graduate office in related
departments/colleges due to their regulation.
• 3. register with Graduate School every other month;

• Tips:
• Application letter should be submitted to Graduate School 15 days in
advance.
• Absence without application for leave or without permission to leave is
regarded as skipping classes.
• In serious cases, students will be dismissed from school!

Postgraduates don’t have the holiday.
Total leave of absence more than 3 month during the
schooling years, defense will be postponed at least 6
month.

 Get Scholarship money
Generally, you can get monthly living allowance
before 10th each month.

But the first time, you may should wait till

November, as the authority committee should
rechecked your documents and then send confirmed
list of scholarship winners to university.

 Regulation on Evaluation of International
Students’ Scholarship

Both the CSC Scholarship winners and

Mayor Scholarship winners should join the
annual review. Please read the related content in
handbook to know the pass criteria.
 Live off campus
Please follow the procedure as follows:
1. Please hand in your application in which the reason and safety promise for
living outside should be included to Graduate School and fill in the related
forms;
2. Please register with the local police station for the accommodation;
3. Please hand in the registration form provided by the police station to the
Graduate School;
4. The application should submit before the new academic year, or it can not
be approved;
5. Students who live outside can not apply to move in the dorm within one
academic year.

 Length of Schooling

The standard length of schooling for both master’s

and Ph. D. program is 3 years.

With the approval of the supervisor, departments,

Graduate School and the president in charge, the
students can postpone their thesis defense.

The length of schooling allowed for master’s

program is from 3 to 6 years.

Supervisors should work out the educational plan for the

international postgraduates according to their specific case, including
courses, scientific research, clinical practice, thesis and oral defense,
within the first semester of the schooling. The educational plan can be
carried out with the approval of the related colleges/departments,
Graduate School and the president in charge.

• Students should do the clinical practice under
the supervision of the supervisors and
according to Law of the People's Republic of
China on Medical Practitioners and other
related law and regulations. They are not
allowed to be on duty or do the clinical practice
alone.
 Training funds

• Master ： RBM 4,000 Yuan/per year ；

• Ph.D : RMB 7,000 Yuan/per year

• Training funds will be provided to the supervisors at the

beginning of each academic year. The funds must be used
for the research or training of students and shall not be
embezzled.

 Degree Conferment
• International postgraduates can apply to the
supervisors and the related departments/colleges
for the oral defense when they complete their
study. With the approval of Graduate School and
the president in charge, the oral defense can be
conducted.
 Criteria for Degree Conferment

• Master’s degree:
• complete their courses ；
• get enough credits ；
• accomplishing teaching and clinical practice ；
• pass the examinations ；
• pass the oral defences.
 Criteria for Degree Conferment
• Ph. D.:
• pass the oral defense;
• should published an SCI article ( IF≥2.0 ) or SCI
articles ( total IF≥3.0 ) if they apply for three-year
education program; should published an SCI article
( IF≥1.5 ) or SCI articles ( total IF≥2.5 ) if they apply
for four-year or more than four-year education
program.
• Authorship requirements: in the published papers, the
affiliation of the correspondent author or the first
author should be Chongqing Medical University.
Master’s degree:

1.pass the oral defense;

2.and should published an article
(The general journal is ok)
