This study seeks to answer the following question: 1. How do students perceive academic self-confidence as an influence on academic performance? 2. What do students perceive as way to improve their academic self-confidence? RESEARCH DESIGN The study will use a qualitative research design, as the phenomenology to understand the self-confidence among grade 11 HUMSS students. Where as phenomenology is wide-ranging form of study which the researcher looks to gather information that explains how individuals experience a phenomenon and how they feel about it. This model recognizes that there is no single objective, reality; instead everyone experiences things differently. There come is described the point of view of the participants. However, the researchers still able to derive a set of findings that can be used to identify themes surrounding the phenomenon under study. RESEARCH ENVIRONMENT The study was conducted at Tuburan National High School one of the schools of Municipality of Tuburan, located at brgy. 07 Tuburan, Cebu. It’s population as determined by 2022 was 280. This represented 5.6% of total population of students in Tuburan National High School. RESEARCH INFORMANTS The respondent’s of this study are the Grade 11 Humanities and Social Sciences of Tuburan National High School Tuburan, Cebu. Through a convenience sampling, every member of the population has a fair chance pd being chosen to be part of the sample. The 11- HUMSS students of Tuburan National High School RESEARCH INSTRUMENT There are different instruments that can be used to the understanding the self-confidence among grade 11 HUMSS students at Tuburan National High School but in this study the researchers used the semi-structured interview to assess the self-confidence among grade 11 HUMSS students when it comes on academic performance. RESEARCH PROCEDURES Prior to conducting the study, the researchera determined the number of respondents. Then, the researcher asked permission to conduct the study and it was approved by the researchers adviser. After which, rechecking of the instrument was done and the researchers requested permission from the senior high school coordinator to perform the study. Following their permission, the researchers introduced the interview questions of the respondents and they were asked to answer the individuality questions. The data will be interpret afterwards. What are you going to do to maintain your self-confidence? 7. Are there any particular subject or activities that make you feel more or less confident than others? 8. Do you feel that your self-confidence has been impacted by any external factors such as social media, peer pressure, or family expectations? 9. How do you develop and maintain self confidence in the face of challenges and setbacks? 10. What strategies do you use to build and maintain self confidence? 11.
