 Management is an art and science of getting


work done through people.

 Itis the process of giving direction and


controlling the various activities of the people to
achieve the objectives of an organization.
FISHERIES MANAGEMENT

 Fisheries management is the process that


creates and enforces the rules that are
needed to prevent overfishing and help
overfished stocks rebound.

PLANNING
It is the process of choosing
appropriate goals and actions to pursue
and determining strategies, actions and
resources to achieve the goals.

ORGANIZING
This process of establishing

worker relationships allows workers

to work together to achieve their


STAFFING
Recruiting and selecting
employees for positions within the
company(teams and departments).

LEADING
This function involves
articulating a vision, energizing
employees, inspiring and motivating
people using vision, influence and
effective communication skills.
Controlling
It is a function of making sure that actions
of the employees of an organization are directed
towards the attainment of a common goal and the
work is being performed as planned by the
management.
SCOPE OF MANAGEMENT
The functional areas of management may be
classified into the following categories.

1) Production Management
2) Marketing Management
3) Financial Management
4) Personnel Management
Production Management

Production management so as to produce the right


goods in right quantity at the right time and at the right cost.

Marketing Management

It refers to the identification of consumer’s needs


and supplying them the goods and services, which can satisfy
those wants.
Financial Management

Financial management seeks to ensure the


right amount and type of funds to business at the
right time and reasonable cost.

Personnel Management

It involves planning, organizing, directing


and controlling the procurement, development,
compensation, maintenance etc.
