The word spelling refers to the action of

forming words with the correct letters in the
correct order (written or spoken).

Spelling in English is necessary to write

correctly names, places, cities, states,
addresses, countries, etc.

 English alphabet classifies letters in vowels (a, e, i,
o, u) and consonants (b, c, d, f, g, etc.)
 There are five vowels and twenty one consonants
