Nelson Mandela
Was born into the Madiba clan in the village of Mvezo, in the Eastern
Cape, on 18 July 1918.
South African activist and politician who led anti-apartheid movements.
He was the first black president from 1994-1999, elected by universal
suffrage in his country.
His government was dedicated to the fight against racism, poverty, social
inequality

 He studied law at the University of Fort Hare and the University of the
Witwatersrand.
 In his practice as a lawyer, he was arrested several times for seditious activities,
and, as part of the ANC leadership, he was prosecuted in the Treason Trial from
1956 to 1961.
 He was accused of seditiousness and treason.
 While in prison he was forced to perform forced labor, in addition to being a
victim of physical violence and being prevented from reading the news and even
receiving visitors.

 He was married with:
1. Evelyn Mase: 1944.1958
2. Winnie Mandela: 1958-1996
3. Graca Machel: 1998-2013
 He retired from politics on March 29, 1999 when he was 80 years old.
 Nelson Mandela died on 5 December 2013 at the age of 95.
 Promoted education for all free from racism and exclusion.
