Nelson Mandela
Was born into the Madiba clan in the village of Mvezo, in the Eastern
Cape, on 18 July 1918.
South African activist and politician who led anti-apartheid movements.
He was the first black president from 1994-1999, elected by universal
suffrage in his country.
His government was dedicated to the fight against racism, poverty, social
inequality

He studied law at the University of Fort Hare and the University of the
Witwatersrand.
In his practice as a lawyer, he was arrested several times for seditious activities,
and, as part of the ANC leadership, he was prosecuted in the Treason Trial from
1956 to 1961.
He was accused of seditiousness and treason.
While in prison he was forced to perform forced labor, in addition to being a
victim of physical violence and being prevented from reading the news and even
receiving visitors.

3. Graca Machel: 1998-2013
He retired from politics on March 29, 1999 when he was 80 years old.
Nelson Mandela died on 5 December 2013 at the age of 95.
