Probability Notation
Here we will learn about probability notation,
including set notation.
What is probability notation?
It’s an efficient way of writing the probability of
events happening or not happening.

To do this we use set notation, which is used

when working with Venn diagrams.
Notation Meaning
P(A) Probability of event A happening.
P(A’) Probability of event A not happening.

P(AB) Probability of event A union B happening.

P(AB) Probability of event A intersection B happening.
