Neurobiological Approach

• Born in Wisconsin in 1880
• Ph.D. in psychology
• Went to medical school at the age of 30 to further understand
psychological processes
• Began studying psychology at Clark University
• Became the first official school psychologist for the state
• board of education in Connecticut (1911)
• In the 50 years of his time at Yale clinic, he and his colleagues
• developed behavior norm for children and test to assess their
level of behavior
neurobiological
• Neuro refers to nervous system which is composed of
central nervous system and peripheral nervous system
• Neurobiology is the study of the nervous system and
how the brain works
• The ways in which the brain and nervous system are
involved in behavior
• Looks the body or mind to explain behavior
• Example : violent, angry, depression
