CONCLUSION
INTRODUCTION
• GSM based streetlight monitoring & control system
is an automated designed to increase the efficiency
of an industry by automatically timed controlled
switching of streetlights.
• GSM based streetlight monitoring & control system
consists of an 8051 microcontroller which on setting
of time delays switches ON&OFF the streetlights and
sends the update through the phone to the specified
phone no.
o This is a smart way of managing street lighting.
There are basically two modules which include the
client side and server side.
• The client side consists of GSM modem which is
connected to microcontroller and server side is
connected to java based web server
EXISTED SYSTEM
The main aim of the project is simply by using LDR and RTC
we can on or off the streetlights at a particular time.
LDR is used to detect the intensity of light.
DRAWBACK:
The main draw back of this system is some times the weather
conditions may not support such that the system may not works properly
..
PROPOSED SYSTEM
So to avoid the draw back of the LDR system we are introducing GSM in
the project such that it is used to send the status of the streetlight as SMS
during any conditions
The GSM network can be divided into three broad parts. The
Mobile station is carried by the subscriber; the Base Station
Sub system controls the radio link with the mobile station .
The Network subsystem, the main part of which is the mobile services
switching centre, performs the switching of calls between the mobile and
other switching networks users, as well as the management users.
The mobile station and the Base Station subsystem communicate across
the Um interface also known as the air interface of the system
The station to be controlled will be interfaced to the GSM modem with the
use of AT& T commands and the total network works as autonomous loop.
ABSTRACT
• A Streetlight, lamppost, streetlamp, lamp standard, is a raised source of light
on the edge of a road, turned on or lit at a certain time every night.
• Modern lamps may also have a light-sensitive photocells to turn on at dusk
and off at dawn, or active automatically in dark weather.
• It is also not uncommon for streetlights to be on posts which have wires
strung between them , such as on telephone poles or utility poles.
• GSM network is composed of several functional entities, whose functions and
interfaces are defined.
• Streetlight has been found to reduce the pedestrian fatalities up to 50%
• A number of street lighting systems has been proposed to reduce the energy
consumption of towns public lighting system.
•These range from controlling a circuit of streetlights and/or individual lights
with specific ballasts and network operating protocols. these may include
sending and receiving instructions via separate data networks at the high
frequency over the top of low voltage supply or wireless.
• According to the result the control center gives orders to each streetlight to
control the switch state and illumination of them

RELAY CIRCUIT
This section is nothing but driving circuitry needed to drive
the Loads. So this section basically includes a Relay with its
protection circuitry. This section is responsible to drive the
Normal Loads and also the Emergency Loads.
Software used
• KEIL software
• Embedded C programming
