• Setting up an organisational structure implies designing
jobs.
• Assoon as a one-person organisation becomes a two-
person organisation, it has to decide who does what; in
other words it has to design jobs.
Job Rotation
• rotating
staff through a series of jobs, is the most
obvious way of preventing employees from becoming
bored with a very narrow and specialised task.
Job Enlargement
• redesign of a job so that it includes more tasks which
require essentially the same level of skill and
responsibility.
Job Enrichment
• redesigning jobs so that the amount of responsibility,
discretion and control required of the employee is
increased
