CONCLUSIO
N
The purpose of Ramayana is to illustrate the excruciating moral choices
that a man(Rama), a woman (sita), the siblings (Lakshmana, Bharatha)
have to make in following the path of Dharma in their lives. They need
to walk a razor’s edge on discriminating between what is right and what
is wrong and the choices they make in the story as king, husband, wife,
son, brother, father, friend collectively form the very definition of
Dharma for millions of Hindus of the world. The very idea and concept
of Dharma is illustrated in the story. Dharma is a complicated word
often mistranslated simply as religion or at best as righteous choice
in English.
