INTRODUCTION TO RAMAYANA
The Hindu epic Ramayana relates the story
of the life of Rama, the seventh incarnation
of the god Vishnu. It follows the story of his
miraculous conception and birth, his many
exploits defeating demons in his youth and
his subsequent exile, defeat of the demon
Ravana, and eventual restoration to the
throne of Ayodhya.The Hindu epic

Kosala), whose eldest son was Rama.

 In such a situation, everyone needs to follow the ideals of the
Ramayana. The Ramayana speaks of the true identity of the individual,
the real significance of the family, and the sanctity of the society. The
Ramayana teaches the im- portance of human values.

popular culture today.
 Rama symbolizes a model of reason, right action, and desirable
virtues. Rama's name is a popular form of greeting among friends
(“Ram! Ram!”), and Rama is the deity most invoked at death.

Dharma is the Hindu concept of the right way of living or respecting one's duty
so that the cosmos remains in order.
