THE CHURCH, SACRAMENT OF

SALVATION
Opening Prayer
• Did I see God this
weekend?
• What did He say to me
1 Corinthians 12:4-11
There are different kinds of spiritual gifts but the same Spirit;
there are different forms of service but the same Lord; there are
different workings but the same God who produces all of them
in everyone. To each individual the manifestation of the Spirit is
given for some benefit. To one is given through the Spirit the
expression of wisdom; to another the expression of knowledge
according to the same Spirit; to another faith by the same
Spirit; to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit; to another
mighty deeds; to another prophecy; to another discernment of
Spirits; to another varieties of tongues; to another
interpretation of tongues. But one and the same Spirit
produces all of these, distributing them individually to each
person as he wishes.
points to ponder

What different gifts does

the Sprit provide in every
individual?
What is the purpose of the
gifts that the Holy Spirit
gives?
What particular gift do you
think the Holy Spirit has
given you? For what
purpose do you use this gift

THE CHURCH AS A SACRAMENT OF SALVATION THROUGH
THE DIFFERENT MINISTRIES

• Each of us has roles to

play, whether at home, in
school or in the
community. At home, the
children are expected to
help in the chores while
parents are expected to
car, provide for and rear
their children well.
THE CHURCH AS A SACRAMENT OF SALVATION
THROUGH THE DIFFERENT MINISTRIES
• In school, students have the duty
of studying and participating in
school activities while teachers
have the obligation to lead their
students to discover new
knowledge and be able to apply
them in their lives. In the
community, various workers like
police officers, firemen, garbage
collectors etc. help keep the
community peaceful and orderly.
THE CHURCH AS A SACRAMENT OF SALVATION
THROUGH THE DIFFERENT MINISTRIES
• What is true of the home,
school, and community is
also true of the Church.
The members of the
church perform different
roles in order to be of
service to others. Each
member of the church is
called to engage in
ministry for the good of all.
What is ministry?
• In its most general sense,
ministry simply means
“service.”
• It embraces any service or
activity that the members
of the church moved but
the Holy Spirit, undertake
on behalf of the Church
and in the service of God’s
Kingdom.
Imagine Ministry....
What is Ministry?
• From this notion of ministry, we
derive its characteristics, namely
(CFC 1420):
It is doing something
For God’s kingdom
In public
On behalf of the Christian
community
Empowered by a gift of faith
received in Baptism and Ordination
Identifiable within the diversity of
ministerial activities
