El 20 de diciembre de 1989 Estados Unidos
invadía Panamá, en lo que luego se conocería
con el nombre de “Causa Justa”, una
operación que involucró a 25.000 soldados
estadounidenses, además de las tropas que
habitualmente permanecían en las bases
cercanas al Canal de Panamá. contra unos
12.000 hombres de Noriega para invadir y
capturar al "hombre fuerte" de este país,
acusado por la Justicia estadounidense de
narcotráfico y que finalmente se entregó el 3
de enero de 1990.
