Introduction

The concept of appraisal for learning

emphasizes that appraisal is an
opportunity for teachers to learn about
their effectiveness.
Use Of Test For
Learner Appraisal

Tests serve as the touch stones for the appraisal of

learners achievement and its quality. Assessment and
teaching learning process are integrated with each
other.
Test that are directly related to the teaching learning
process are of three types. They are,
Formative assessment test
Achievement test
Diagnostic test
Tests that evaluate students as it develops during
the period of teaching are known as formative test
Tests that helps to assess the learning achievement
of students after the teaching is over are called
summative test. Summative test are also known as
achievement test or examinations.
Achievement tests are two types.
Teacher made test applicable for a particular
school.
Standardized tests applicable for all schools
which follow a particular syllabus.
 Appraisal of students learning is done by matching
their learning achievements with the expected learning
outcomes.

Important Appraisal of students learning is undertaken for

improving their learning.

Features Of
Using Test
Teacher has to employ a variety of assessment tools
and techniques to assess students learning.

For Learner Assessment of students learning is not an annual event

Appraisal but integrated with the process of teaching.

Learners appraisal is a process that is to be undertaken

carefully and efficiently.
