PREAMBLE OF

INDIAN
CONSTITUTION

Introduction
• The various objectives of the preamble include sovereignty,
secularism, democracy, equality, liberty and fraternity.
• The object purpose and scope of the preamble is to give us an
idea of the source of the constitution and the date of adoption
of the preamble.
Preamble Of Indian Constitution

• Indian Constitution has a preamble. The opening words of the preamble to the Indian
constitution.
• “We the people of India, having solemnly resolved to constitute India into Sovereign
Socialist, Secular, Democratic Republic to secure all citizens.
• JUSTICE- Social, Economic & Political
• LIBERTY- of thought, expression, belief, faith & worship
• EQUALITY- of status & opportunity & to promote among them all
• FRATERNITY- assuring the dignity of the individual and the unity and integrity of the
nation
JUSTICE
• Justice means ensuring the protection of not only the individual rights but
also keeping in mind the social needs and progress
• Justice is of three kinds
Social justice
Economic justice
Political justice
SOCIAL JUSTICE

• The government should provide special privilege in


education and employment to socially marginalized
people and the oppressed class in order to uplift their
social status
ECONOMIC
JUSTICE
• The government should work with the aim to create a fair economic
system in which the resources of the country are evenly distributed
to all.
POLITICAL JUSTICE
• People getting equal opportunities and treated equally with respect to
holding political posts, getting voting rights, being elected as political
representatives, having free and fair elections and contesting in them.
• Reservation of seats in parliament ( Lok sabha ) and state assemblies for
scheduled castes and scheduled Tribes are included under political justice.
FREEDOM
• Freedom relates to thoughts, speech, writing, beliefs and faith, and
practice of worship.
• All the citizens have the freedom to speak or write his views on any
subject without harming the country or society.
• Citizens have the right to criticize the government and its rule.
• State will treat all regions equally without any discrimination.
EQUALITY

• To improve social status and opportunities


• Equality implies that all are equal before the eyes of law
• Equal opportunities should be provided to all without any
discrimination of religion, caste, gender or other considerations.
FRATERNITY
• Fraternity refers to ensuring individual dignity and nations unity and
integrity.
• Unity in diversity should be cultivated among students.
• People could live in harmony without having any social conflicts and
reinforce democracy.
CONCLUSION
• The preamble is an important and indispensable part of our Indian
constitution.
• The preamble ensures the smooth functioning of our democracy and
entitles every citizen to equal rights.
