Kinds of Animals/Food Chain
(Grade III to IV)
Animals are multi-cellular, eukaryotic
organisms of the kingdom Animalia. All
types of animal are motile which means
they can move independently and
spontaneously from the point of their lives.
All animals are heterotrophs. Most known
animal phyla marine species. Animals are
sub dived into various sub-groups like
vertebrates, mollusks, arthropods,
annelids, sponges and fishes. These
subgroups are sub-classified into their
respective groups.
A food chain is a linear network of links
in a food web starting from producer
organisms and ending at an apex
predator species, detritivores, or
decomposer species. A food chain also
shows how organisms are related to each
other by the food they eat.
