with him.
Don’t Say: Being discouraged he decided
not to discuss the issue again.

Say: Being discouraged, he decided not


to discuss the issue again.

Note: Comma is always used to separate


the phrase ‘Being discouraged’ from the
other part of the sentence.
Don’t Say: Don’t step
in the grass.

Say: Keep off the


grass.
