Tag Questions
 São perguntas usadas no fim de afirmações para confirmar o que foi
dito.
 Para uma frase afirmativa, a tag question deve ser negativa.
We are friends, aren’t we?
 Para uma frase negativa, a tag question deve ser afirmativa.
They weren’t home, were they?
 O verbo auxiliar se repete na tag question. Quando não há auxiliar,
usa-se DO / DOES / DID – de acordo com o tempo verbal da frase.
1. Verb To BE

He is American, isn’t he?

 They are friends, aren’t they?
 The children were playnig, weren’t
they?
 The boss was in my room, wasn’t he?
 2. Simple Present

She has studied for two hours, hasn’t she?

He can’t sing, can he?
You want to get a job, don’t you?
He plays volleyball at school , doesn’t he?
She should eat less, shouldn’t she?
 3. Past Tense

He found the keys, didn’t he?

They didn’t expect that, did they?
She visited her grandmother, didn’t
she?
