1. Son Of Jephunneh ....... Josh. 15:13.

Now to Caleb the son of Jephunneh he gave a share among

13

the children of Judah, according to the commandment of

the LORD to Joshua, namely, Kirjath Arba, which is Hebron
(Arba was the father of Anak).
Caleb:

2. Sent As Spy ............ Num. 13:2, 6.

“Send men to spy out the land of Canaan, which I am giving
to the children of Israel; from each tribe of their fathers you
shall send a man, every one a leader among them.” 6 from the
tribe of Judah, Caleb the son of Jephunneh
Caleb:

3. Gave Good Report ........ Num. 13:27, 30.

Then they told him, and said: “We went to the land where you sent
27

us. It truly flows with milk and honey, and this is its fruit.

30
Then Caleb quieted the people before Moses, and said, “Let us go
up at once and take possession, for we are well able to overcome it.”
Caleb:

4. His Life Saved .......... Num. 14:5-12.

Caleb:

5. Told To Divide Canaan ....... Num. 34:17, 19.

17
“These are the names of the men who shall divide the land among
you as an inheritance: Eleazar the priest and Joshua the son of Nun.
19
These are the names of the men: from the tribe of Judah, Caleb the
son of Jephunneh
Caleb:

6. Entered Canaan ......... Num. 14:24-38.

Caleb:
7. End Of Conquest- 85 Years ..... Josh. 14:6-13.

Then the children of Judah came to Joshua in Gilgal. And Caleb the son of
Jephunneh the Kenizzite said to him: “You know the word which
the LORD said to Moses the man of God concerning you and me in Kadesh
Barnea. 7 I was forty years old when Moses the servant of the LORD sent me
from Kadesh Barnea to spy out the land, and I brought back word to him as it
was in my heart. 8 Nevertheless my brethren who went up with me made
the heart of the people melt, but I wholly followed the LORD my God. 9 So
Moses swore on that day, saying, ‘Surely the land where your foot has trodden
shall be your inheritance and your children’s forever, because you have wholly
followed the LORD my God.’
Caleb:
7. End Of Conquest- 85 Years ..... Josh. 14:6-13.

10
And now, behold, the LORD has kept me alive, as He said, these forty-five
years, ever since the LORD spoke this word to Moses while Israel wandered in
the wilderness; and now, here I am this day, eighty-five years old. 11 As yet I am
as strong this day as on the day that Moses sent me; just as my
strength was then, so now is my strength for war, both for going out and for
coming in. 12 Now therefore, give me this mountain of which the LORD spoke
in that day; for you heard in that day how the Anakim were there, and that the
cities were great and fortified. It may be that the LORD will be with me, and I
shall be able to drive them out as the LORD said.” 13 And Joshua blessed
him, and gave Hebron to Caleb the son of Jephunneh as an inheritance.
Caleb:
8. Given Hebron ........ Josh. 14:14, 15; Josh. 15:13-16.

Hebron therefore became the inheritance of Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite
14

to this day, because he wholly followed the LORD God of Israel. 15 And the name of

Hebron formerly was Kirjath Arba (Arba was the greatest man among the Anakim).

Now to Caleb the son of Jephunneh he gave a share among the children of Judah,
13

according to the commandment of the LORD to Joshua, namely, Kirjath Arba,

which is Hebron (Arba was the father of Anak). 14 Caleb drove out the three sons of Anak
from there: Sheshai, Ahiman, and Talmai, the children of Anak. 15 Then he went up from
there to the inhabitants of Debir (formerly the name of Debir was Kirjath Sepher).
16
And Caleb said, “He who attacks Kirjath Sepher and takes it, to him I will give Achsah
my daughter as wife.”
Caleb:
9. Gave Daughter To Othniel ..... Judg. 1:12-15.

The west border was the coastline of the Great Sea. This is the boundary

12

of the children of Judah all around according to their families. 13 Now to

Caleb the son of Jephunneh he gave a share among the children of Judah,
according to the commandment of the LORD to Joshua, namely, Kirjath
Arba, which is Hebron (Arba was the father of Anak). 14 Caleb drove out the
three sons of Anak from there: Sheshai, Ahiman, and Talmai, the children of
Anak. 15 Then he went up from there to the inhabitants of Debir (formerly
the name of Debir was Kirjath Sepher).
Caleb:

10. Descendants ............ 1 Chr. 4:15.

The sons of Caleb the son of

15

Jephunneh were Iru, Elah, and Naam. The son of

Elah was Kenaz.

2. In Battle .............. 1 Sam. 17:46.

This day the LORD will deliver you into my hand, and I will strike
46

you and take your head from you. And this day I will give the
carcasses of the camp of the Philistines to the birds of the air and the
wild beasts of the earth, that all the earth may know that there is a
God in Israel.

Then David said to Saul, “Let no man’s heart fail because of

32

him; your servant will go and fight with this Philistine.” 50 So David
prevailed over the Philistine with a sling and a stone, and struck the
Philistine and killed him. But there was no sword in the hand of
David.

5. When Threatened ......... Dan. 3:16-18.

Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego answered and said to the king, “O

16

Nebuchadnezzar, we have no need to answer you in this matter. 17 If that is the

case, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery
furnace, and He will deliver us from your hand, O king. 18 But if not, let it be
known to you, O king, that we do not serve your gods, nor will we worship the
gold image which you have set up.”

Then Samson called to the LORD, saying, “O Lord GOD, remember me, I pray!

28

Strengthen me, I pray, just this once, O God, that I may with one blow take vengeance on
the Philistines for my two eyes!” 29 And Samson took hold of the two middle pillars which
supported the temple, and he braced himself against them, one on his right and the other on
his left. 30 Then Samson said, “Let me die with the Philistines!” And he pushed with all
his might, and the temple fell on the lords and all the people who were in it. So the dead that
he killed at his death were more than he had killed in his life.

given at Shushan, that he might show it to Esther and explain it to her, and
that he might command her to go in to the king to make supplication to him
and plead before him for her people. 16 “Go, gather all the Jews who are
present in Shushan, and fast for me; neither eat nor drink for three days, night
or day. My maids and I will fast likewise. And so I will go to the king,
which is against the law; and if I perish, I perish!”

Now as the lame man who was healed held on to Peter and John, all the people ran
11

together to them in the porch which is called Solomon’s, greatly amazed. 12 So when Peter
saw it, he responded to the people: “Men of Israel, why do you marvel at this? Or why look
so intently at us, as though by our own power or godliness we had made this man
walk? 13 The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the God of our fathers, glorified His
Servant Jesus, whom you delivered up and denied in the presence of Pilate, when he was
determined to let Him go. 14 But you denied the Holy One and the Just, and asked for a
murderer to be granted to you, 15 and killed the Prince of life, whom God raised from the
dead, of which we are witnesses.
