What is Social and Ballroom Dance?
◦ It includes all forms of dancing done primarily for recreation or pleasure. The
Folk and peasant dances are the earliest social dances. Ballroom dances was
originally applied to the dances commonly done in a ballroom.
◦ The tradition was historically distinguished from fold or country dance by its
association with the elite social classes and invitational dance events as well as
public dance events, professional dance exhibitions and formal competitions.

Why is Social and Ballroom Dance
Important?
◦ It helps develop self-confidence and self-discipline
