Thanksgiving
Story
The pilgrims were travelers on a
religious journey.
The Pilgrims did not believe in the
teachings of
the Church of England.
So they left England in 1609 and went to
Holland to practice their beliefs.
The pilgrim’s children were adapting too
much to the new culture.
They returned to England and secured passage on the
Speedwell.
The Speedwell took on water too quickly and
had to return to the dock.
The Merchant
Adventurers paid for
the Pilgrim’s voyage.
The Mayflower continued on with all of the passengers.
The interior of the boat was very
small.
Living on the
Mayflower was
very difficult.
The 44 pilgrims and the rest of the
passengers did not get along.
