Uses of Present Perfect tense
• Recent actions when the time is not mentioned or is not
definite: He has seen the film before.
• Personal experiences or changes: He has dyed his hair red.
• Recently completed actions: I have just finished typing the
letter.

Time expressions: just, ever, never, already, yet, always, how long, so
far, recently, since, for, today, this week/month etc.

Form
Look at the pictures and write the words next to the pictures.
Examples

We use the present perfect for an action in the past with a


result now:

• I have lost my passport. (=I can’t find my passport now)


• “Where is Linda?” “She has gone to bed.” (=she is in the bed now)
• We have bought a new car. (=we have a new car now)
