Separating Mixtures

Separation - is a method that converts a mixture

or a solution into two or more distinct substances, a
scientific process of distinguishing two or more
substance in order to obtain purity.
Decantation - is done to separate particulates from
a liquid by allowing the solids to settle to the
bottom of the mixture and pouring off the liquid.
The mixture is allowed to settle, and the liquid is
removed while preventing the solid from escaping.
Directions: Draw a heart if the following mixtures can be separated
using decantation.
