AIM : To Verify Exterior Angle property .

EXTERIOR ANGLE PROPERTY states that in a triangle

either of the exterior angle is the sum of its two
opposite interior angles.
So let us draw a triangle ABC..
Cut the angle A…..
Then cut the angle B…..
Place the angles A and B that coincides with
angle C …
Here we see, the interior angles A and B of the triangle when
attached with exterior angle ACD they altogether forms an
angle of 180o with angle C . ( < ACD + < C = 180o )

180o

This above equation is also satisfied by the property of triangle which
A C=
states that the sum of all 3 angles of a =180o (<A+ <B +<C = 180o )
and
B
ACD + C = 180o from fig thus the exterior angle property is proven.

Ans. We know that in an equilateral
triangle all angles are 60o ….
Here the angle A= angle B= angle C =
60o .
So the exterior angle ACD= 60o+ 60o
C =120o,
E B D
Similarly angle FAC = angle ABE = 120o
Ans 2. No , as we know through the exterior angle property the exterior angle is the
sum of its two opposite interior angles so it cannot be smaller than its either one.
B
Ans 3.In this fig Angle BAD = 90o so its adjacent interior BAC will also
be 90o and as per the exterior property,
Angle BAD= Angle B+ Angle C = 90o .
D A
Also we know that in complementary angles sum of both the angles C
is 90o ,which satisfies the above equation…and in supplementary
angles, sum of the angles is 180o.
So here, the opposite interior angles B & C are not supplementary
but complimentary angles.
Ans 4. EXTERIOR ANGLE PROPERTY states that in any triangle anyone of exterior angle is
the sum of its two opposite interior angles. (already done).

Ans 5. Sum of interior opposite angles = 180o

then its adjacent exterior angle will be 180o – 130o = 50o
