AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTION PROCESSES

• Agriculture production processes are those process which

involves from the addition of input to the production of
final output.
• Eg: Seeds, fertilizers, machineries involved to produce final product
.
• The technical opportunities to increase farm output through
dynamic management are not immediately apparent to any farmer

whose aim is just to feed the family.

• It is partially true that economic principles do not apply to farmers

in a ‘non-monetized’ economy where most of the output is

consumed at home and little is sold to money.

• Thus farmers who operate only partially in a market economy naturally do
not have the same incentive to react to market forces as farmers who operate
fully for the market.

• Under the market oriented production situations, though farmers also allot
part of the production for family consumption, still they make decisions on
how to maximize their income. Improved production decisions are therefore
more important and not practicing such decision.
• The decision making process , depends on the farmers resource potential and
their capacity to derive appropriate decisions. The appropriate decision making
process will help in increases the overall production.

• Appropriate methods and techniques are needed to strengthen such decision

making process of the farmers.
