 WHAT IS FOOD CRISIS

• A food crisis occurs when rates of hunger and

malnutrition rise sharply at local, national, or global
levels. ... A food crisis is usually set off by a shock to
either supply or demand for food and often involves a
sudden spike in food prices.
 WHAT CAUSES FOOD CRISIS

• In the United States and other high-income countries, hunger is mainly

caused by poverty that results from a lack of jobs or because jobs
pay too little. Hunger rates rise when the national or local economy is
in a slump. People lose jobs and cannot find work.
 SOLUTIONS TO FOOD INSECURITY

• Reduce Food Waste

• Promote Diversification
• Stop wasting food
• Stop playing with food
• Work Towards Defeating Climate Change
 HOW CAN WE PREVENT FOOD CRISIS

• To sum up, possible solutions for food shortage include (but by no

means are limited to) reducing food loss and waste, boosting crop
yields, improving land and water management, avoiding practices
that lead to further poverty, decreasing the lavishing of food,
reducing the number of pets and animals that consume a lot
