553 ~ On Jordan’s Stormy Banks

1
1

On Jordan's stormy banks I stand,

And cast a wishful eye

To Canaan's fair and happy land,

Where my possessions lie.

1
Refrain
We will rest in the fair and happy land,
Just across on the evergreen shore;
Sing the song of Moses and the Lamb by
and by,
And dwell with Jesus evermore.
1
Filled with delight, my raptured soul

Would here no longer stay;

Though Jordan's waves around me roll,

Fearless I'd launch away.

1
Refrain
We will rest in the fair and happy land,
Just across on the evergreen shore;
Sing the song of Moses and the Lamb by
and by,
And dwell with Jesus evermore.

642 ~ Just Over the Mountains

1
1
Just over the mountains in the
Promised Land,
Lies the holy city built by God's own
hand;

1
As our weary footsteps
gain the mountain's
crest,
We can view our
homeland of eternal
rest.
1

We are nearing home! We are

nearing home!

See the splendor gleaming

from the domes afar!

C
Refrain

See the glory streaming

through the "gates ajar!"

There we soon will enter,

nevermore to roam,

C
Refrain

Hear the angels singing!

We are nearing home!

We are nearing home.

C
My brother, my sister, will you

meet us there,

In that land of sunshine where

there'll be no care?

3
Accept of God's message,

and to Him be true;

Then when Jesus cometh

He will call for you.

They Come From The
East And West
They come from the

east and west,

They come from

the north and south,

1
Invited to join with

Jesus as guests,

And dwell in their

Father’s house; 1
To gaze at His lovely

face,

And clothed with His

purity,
1
Join with Him in

song and joy

Throughout eternity.

1
They come from
the thorny path,
They come from
the stormy sea,
C
They come from the
hills, they come from
the dales,
They come now, O
Lord, to Thee,

C
Arrayed in His
marriage robes,
Their Bridegroom
so soon to see,
C
He who hung
upon the cross
To win their
victory.
C
Here gathers a

countless host

Redeemed by His

grace from wrong.

2
No more any sin, no

more any tears,

No more any night

so long.
2
Old things are now

passed away,

All things are

become as new.

2
Joy shall reign

eternally,

For death is ended,

too. 2
They come from
the thorny path,
They come from
the stormy sea,
C
They come from the
hills, they come from
the dales,
They come now, O
Lord, to Thee,

C
Arrayed in His
marriage robes,
Their Bridegroom
so soon to see,
C
He who hung
upon the cross
To win their
victory.
C
Remember the

pearly gate

Stands open for

you and me. 3

Our Saviour has gone

a place to prepare

For those He from sin

set free.
3
Loved ones who have

passed away

Are resting within

the grave,
3
Awaiting God’s last

trumpet call,

For those He came

to save. 3
They come from

They come from the
