When we use a very common simile, this can be seen


as a cliché. You should try to use original similes if
possible.

powerful imagery. In the first stanza he writes:

Simile – effect of similes
A simile is a comparison between one person or
object with another. It allows the writer to draw
attention to the qualities, both positive and
negative, of the subject, for example,
