Content Standard
The learners demonstrate an understanding the knowledge,
skills, and attitudes required in maintaining kitchen tools,
equipment, and work premises.

Performance Standard

The learners independently maintain clean kitchen tools,


equipment and premises.
Essential Questions:

• What makes preparing and cooking easier?

• What are the available cooking tools, utensils and equipment


in your home?

• Do you know their names and uses?


Who Am I?
Objectives
At the end of this module, you are expected to:

a. recognize the kitchen tools, utensils and equipments;


b. identify the kitchen tools, utensils and equipments;
c. familiarize the uses of each kitchen tools; and
d. appreciate the importance of knowing on how to use kitchen
tools, utensils and equipments.
Measuring tools and Equipment
are used in measuring dry, liquid,
and solid ingredients and also in
measuring temperature.
a. Measuring cups and spoons-
used to measure an amount of
an ingredient, either liquid or
dry, when cooking. Measuring
spoons may be made of plastic,
metal, and other materials.

b. Liquid measuring quart- used to


measure liquid ingredients like
water, oil and others.
c. Thermometers- They're great for testing the
doneness of a piece of meat or poultry while it
cooks, but they're not meant to be left in
during cooking.

d. Weighing scale- are used for weighing food in


a kitchen during cooking.

e. Timer- A device that can be set for a number of


minutes (usually up to one hour) that sounds an
alarm such as a bell or buzzer when the specified
amount of time has elapsed; commonly used
when cooking or baking.
