PURPOSE:

the proper submission of incident reports and updates on foreign nationals involved in crimes either as suspect/s or victim/s.

Relations (VCCR) - Philippines was a signatory. CONCEPT OF OPERATIONS:
1. Significant incidents (arrests and detentions) must be sent
simultaneously to FLD-DI through its official mobile phone within one hour after the incident, particularly those involving foreign nationals. 2. Written reports can be sent directly by concerned police line units that have available internet connectivity or facsimile to the official email address of FLD-DI or through fax machine within 24 hours after the incident. There shall be eight hours period of reporting from PS/MPS/CPS to PPP/CPO, PPO/CPO to PRO and PRO to NHQ-PNP (DI). NHQ-PNP DI to Embassy. DFA and BID. 3. Progress reports/updates on a particular case or any information relative to the conduct of investigation being required by concerned embassies should directly forwarded to DIDM.DIDM shall in turn forward the said update/progress report to concerned embassies or any other requesting party as the case may be (copy furnished DI). be undertaken by the PNP to upgrade the safety and security of tourist (both local and foreign) and provide more peaceful, orderly, and secured tourist spots, destination, and recreation areas nationwide . • CREATION OF THE MAJOR CRIME INVESTIGATION UNIT (MCIU)
- Is created under CIDG to resolve cold cases, a case that has
no development or progress for at least 6 months.
• CREATION OF SPECIAL INVESTIGATION TASK
GROUP (SITG)
- SITG is created temporarily to investigate sensational or
heinous crimes. This shall be organized whether at the Regional or Provincial/City Police Office or at the highly urbanized cities depending on how sensational or heinous the crime is/ and or upon order/direction of C, PNP. • EXPANDED MANDATE - PNP TASK FORCE “USIG”
- Includes monitoring of cases of death of foreign nationals thru
violent means.

- A program of the PNP wherein foreign nationals were
recruited by the local police units to act as point of contact between the police and their embassies to relay important information relating to their safety and security while in the country. • RA 9593 OR THE TOURISM ACT OF 2009 - The legal basis for the creation of TPUs. Section 100.Peace and Order - The Philippine National Police shall establish a Tourism Security Force to assist in maintaining peace and order within areas of high tourism traffic.
