INTRODUCTION
Just like us, Americans have a day to celebrate their
country's independence. It was in the 18th century that the
American nation ceased to be an English colony,
transforming it into an independent state and breaking ties
with the British Crown.

Since 1870, the date has been a national holiday in the

country, being celebrated annually by Americans.

When was the Independence of the
United States declared?
On July 4, 1776, the declaration written by Thomas
Jefferson, establishing the Independence of the United
States, was published. Unanimously, the thirteen
American colonies voted in favor, contributing to the
emancipation of the country. But it was not easy to win
this victory, after all, this only happened after a war
between American citizens and the English colonizers of
the country. It all started when the British Crown decided
to establish new taxes, which demanded much more from
the population and harmed the economic rise of the
region.

However, it was only in 1783 – almost ten years later –

that North American independence was recognized by
England, after the signing of the Treaty of Paris.

The way Americans celebrate today has
a lot to do with the first Independence

is on this list:

Fireworks. There are fireworks displays

across the country. A lot of people also buy
their own rockets to do private shows.

without the famous barbecue? Americans
really like to roast sausages and
hamburgers and have a nice picnic in the
